Clima Colonia

Neue Direktion Cologne was built on the site of the “Königliche Eisenbahndirektion zu Cöln” (Royal Railway Directorate of Cologne) on the banks of the Rhine close to Cologne Cathedral and the city’s main train station. The building offers a state-of-the-art working space for around 850 employees of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). 

Apleona R&M Ausbau Berlin GmbH was commissioned with the installation of heating and cooling ceilings designed to create a pleasant room climate. From the R&M Clima Concept programme, 650 m² of Munich-type metal ceiling grids, 6,500 m2 of Berlin-type metal ceiling sails and 800 m2 of Hamburg-type plasterboard ceilings were installed. R&M Clima Concept is a flexible, easy-to-use and resource-efficient modular system. Thanks to its flexible design, R&M Clima Concept is ideal for almost any shape and type of ceiling – from metal ceilings and plasterboard elements to recessed installations. 

This imposing office building seamlessly combines old and new. The listed, neo-classical façade is resplendent in a new light, and even the imposing entrance hall has been integrated in the new construction in its original style. The centrepiece of the building is the two-story ellipsis, which features original elements and was also installed by the team from Apleona R&M Ausbau.
